CREATE

I thought it was time I posted my photos. Here is my finished piece. Well...it's not finished, but it has completed the rounds and is awaiting me. I haven't quite decided how I will finish it.

My theme was the word "CREATE" and the instructions were to place one letter of the word in each square vertically so that the word could be read on the piece. I did not specify whether the letters should be capital or lower case. The only other thing I asked was that it be "distressed" in style.

I chose to do the center "e" to start with. I found it intersting that those who worked below my letter chose dark colors, while those who worked above my letter chose lighter, more pastel colors. I hope you can click on the photo to see it up close. Each square is fascinating.

Above is how my square looked before I covered it up and sent it on its way. I challenged myself to use a bottlecap in each of the pieces I worked on. For the "e" I used chipboard, which I painted and then covered in some tissue from an old sewing pattern, and then painted some more. I can't even tell you what all I did to this piece, but I sure had fun. Below are some closeups.

I'll start posting the other squares I made soon. :o) Michelle
