I chose to do the center "e" to start with. I found it intersting that those who worked below my letter chose dark colors, while those who worked above my letter chose lighter, more pastel colors. I hope you can click on the photo to see it up close. Each square is fascinating.
Above is how my square looked before I covered it up and sent it on its way. I challenged myself to use a bottlecap in each of the pieces I worked on. For the "e" I used chipboard, which I painted and then covered in some tissue from an old sewing pattern, and then painted some more. I can't even tell you what all I did to this piece, but I sure had fun. Below are some closeups.
