Carolyn's theme was "purple/cool/geometric"--easy--but not :}She had sent a fabric with her piece that she asked be used in small amounts, the purple dot at bottom and top of my square for her. Overlaid with a purple sheer on gold lace and painted cheesecloth, i added grid lines in black stitching, then echoed the white dots with pearly seed beads. These lines were to echo and integrate the visible edge i could see with tiny white dots on a thin black line in the underlying base fabric. Some of the purple sheer was manipulated into folds.
I also free motioned some circles, joining them with a straight line---reminded me of "scientific"(geometry!) drawings :}, then scattered beads amongst and on them.
I added squares and triangles with a painted bubbled cellophane, holding them in place with bugle beads and seed beads, couched knotted rat-tail cording along the edges of the fabric she had sent, then appliqued 2 pieces of previously stenciled and foiled scraps. One is rather bird like!
Some of the knotted cording was left loose at the edge and integrated by the person who worked the square beside.
Loved the colours in this one!!!!
