Exquisite Corpse Self Portrait

Did you know you can create an Exquisite Corpse of sorts by yourself? This piece was started before i finished the first round of the ECRR. I've so far used pieces from 5 different projects: a good way to use up UFO's, "off-cuts" and "Components":} The left arm is made from a jacket made 7 years ago, the right an offcut from an arch page, the body a scrap of painted and melted batting with a reverse appliqued hand painted and free motion stitched heart, and the head a sample i created. I have to add more hair---if the eyes are not placed half way on the head, it implies a small brain pan :}

Try It! Would love to see other "self portraits" or pictures done this way!

I just found your blog today by way of a poster on my blog. I love following links to see where they lead.

You have some GORGEOUS works of art here. I'm not home right now, so I have bookmarked the site to come back later when I have more time to wander through the posts and take it all in.

Hi Arlee, You are too funny! I used to teach self portraits to school age kids and I never thought to tell them that. I am sure a bigger brain is a great motivation. You have just given me some ideas for the start of my EC.

Thank you all! I have since made the lady's brain more intelligent:} One of my college professors used to go around and look at our drawings---if we have the proportions incorrect, he'd say"Well, i guess *this* one is a rocket scientist" :}
